FAQs

What’s your policy on inclement weather?

We will generally follow Wake County School inclement weather closure policy, however, there may be some exceptions. Please check our website, social media or call the studio for details about inclement weather schedule changes.

What is your make-up policy?

Instrument students must provide at least 24 hour’s notice in order to qualify for a makeup lesson and are eligible for up to 3 makeup lessons per school year session. Our Kindermusik classes offer several flexible makeup options. Should you miss a class or a lesson, you may call the office to schedule a make-up (space permitting).

What age can my child start piano?

We recommend your student be between 6.5 - 7 years old before starting piano lessons. It varies a little from child to child of course, but this is a good guideline. For children ages 5 to 7 we have a wonderful pre-instrument program called "Kindermusik Musicians" which gives them a solid grounding in musical terminology and introduces them to three families of instruments, providing them a glockenspiel, a dulcimer and a recorder over the course of the 2 year program. Our experience with Kindermusik Musicians Graduates in our group and private lessons has demonstrated to us just how valuable it is - they get an enormous boost in progress when they start instrument study.

How can I access Kindermusik materials at home?

We know that children thrive on routine and ritual. The more familiar your child is with the music and activities we explore in class, the more comfortable they will be. As your child's first and best teacher, Kindermusik International gives you exceptional tools to enjoy together at home throughout the week, enhancing your experience in class and beyond.

The Kindermusik App brings all of the music and learning resources from class into the palm of your hand. Visit the App Store or Google Play to install this free resource. When you login with the email we have on file, you'll automatically gain access to all of the albums and e-books that correspond to your child's enrolled curriculum level.

We highly recommend listening to your music albums as often as possible. Daily, if you're able. You and your child are co-creating the soundtrack of their early childhood. These melodies will be firmly planted in their heart for a lifetime alongside the magical memories you make at home and in class.

 What is your sick policy?

We ask that if you or your child is experiencing any of the following that you schedule a makeup lesson or Kindermusik class;

• a fever of 100 degrees or more
• inflammation of the eyes (excessive redness, glassy or discharge)
• vomiting
• diarrhea or loose stool
• are diagnosed with any communicable disease as defined by the Department of Health Services/Center for Disease Control
• unknown rash
• excessive nasal discharge

Please refrain from coming to the studio until you or your child are fever free for 24hrs and/or haven’t had diarrhea/vomiting for 24hrs
